Yoga is more than "just physical"!

Yoga asanas are more than just physical exercise.  Yoga is not just skin-deep; it is infact much deeper and can touch your soul!  When you balance your body, you balance your emotions.   Forward bends allow you to become more understanding and flexible to people and situations. Backward bends give you strength and courage to face and overcome the setbacks in life. Twisting releases all fears & inhibitions that stop you from moving forward. Pranayama and mantra gives you the inner mental stamina to give your best effort in personal & professional life. Daily dhyna (meditation) leads you on a journey to self-discovery- so that you can feel inner peace, joy and happiness. Thus, your yoga asana practice can change your life 360 degrees.  Never make mistake yoga to be just a physical act.  It connects your mind-body-soul! "Yoga is the Journey, of the self, to the self, through the self...."

Therapeutic Theatre

On a TV show there was a about raising standards in schools, and making changes to the curriculum, so we generated the skills necessary for a successful 21st century society. Did that mean, asked the interviewer, that there needed to be more emphasis on skills such as maths and engineering? Yes was the reply. Of course we do need those skills, nobody would argue against their importance. But while we need people with the skills to build – let's say a bridge – we also need the people capable of imagining that bridge in the first place, or thinking how we could create a very different kind of bridge. Or perhaps asking whether we need a bridge at all. Theatre, fires the imagination, it gives our children the skills and the creativity necessary to face the world, to understand it and perhaps to change it too. Through the use of role-play and other such improvisational skills and fun activities such as mask making, children can explore their feelings both conscious and sub-un...

Did you know? People who eat breakfast are less likely to be overweight and to have high cholesterol. Perhaps you should think again about swapping your mid-morning samosa or farsan (dry snacks) for a bowl of whole-wheat biscuits and a glass of fruit juice? Why eat breakfast? Breakfast literally means 'breaking the fast'. Having been without food all night, your body is low on energy and needs fuel, in the form of food, to get going again. What makes a healthy breakfast? The best choices for breakfast are high in fiber and low in fat. Breakfast should account for about 25 % of your daily energy requirements. Weekend Health Retreat

Whether you work in a demanding corporate or own a taxing business or run the show at home or are a student groping in the dark.  We all have long days, stress, and errands that can get in the way of a healthy lifestyle. It's no surprise that we're facing increasing demands on our time —both at work and home. Our reflex is to work longer hours, skimp on sleep, forfeit our holidays/vacations, skip meals (or binge), and take other "shortcuts". But this approach comes at a high psychological and physiological cost to ourselves and our families/friends, and can lead to burnout. For most of us, it seems implausible to remove some time for ourselves- the “me time”. Some of us look at our vacations as a chance to hit the reset button to our lives while some others find it difficult to steal this time out for themselves. Weekend Health Retreat is an initiative for healing and reviving that is not-so-far-away-from-home.  It is a holistic program tailored especially to me...
